The "Thermal Dehydration System" enhances anti-slip tiles by
actively removing water and ice, improving safety and
supporting Macau’s "aging-friendly city" goal.
When there is water or ice on the floor, the moisture sensor
within the floor tiles automatically detects it and
activates warm steam to dry it, faster than sunlight.
The surface remains comfortable for barefoot walking
seasonally: in summer, it evaporates water at ~40°C; in
winter, it raises to ~50°C to melt ice and dry surfaces,
countering higher slip risks from cold weather.
The surface has hidden anti-slip patterns, so it reduces the
risk of slipping by 80% and prevents disabilities and
illnesses resulting from falls.
After a certain amount of water is collected, rainwater will
flow from the drainage pipes of the paving stones into the
park's own large drainage system, speeding up drainage
during heavy rainfall.
